This fall protection training course is based off of Alberta OH&S legislation when taking this course in Alberta. This fall protection course incorporates many industry best practices and is ultimately designed to exceed industry standards.

Training Certificate
Upon successful completion of the training program, you will receive a training certificate that is valid for 3 years issued by ABCS Safety Training.
Prerequisites
- Completion of the online course and exam prior to your in-person practical portion.
- Government issued photo ID
- Physically capable of wearing a fall protection harness.
Booking Policy
Life happens – we get it. Your seat is reserved exclusively for you, and we guarantee all courses run as scheduled.
Rescheduling requests require:
• 72 hours’ notice (courses under $200)
• 7 days’ notice (courses over $200)
Bookings made within these notice periods are final and cannot be changed. With proper notice, we may assist with rescheduling, course upgrades, or transferring your seat to another participant.

To ensure the highest integrity, your exam is proctored. You must have a camera & microphone and agree to having them enabled. Older computers or slow internet may affect performance.

Fall protection encompasses any planned system designed to prevent or mitigate falls from elevated surfaces. Specifically, it encompasses all measures, equipment, and devices implemented to mitigate falls within a work setting.
The Fall Protection Course covers a range of topics pertinent to the safety of workers at elevated levels, including:
- Adherence to regulatory safety protocols
- Equipment inspection procedures
- Differentiating between fall arrest and fall restraint
- Proper utilization of systems and equipment
- Introduction to anchor points and systems
This Fall Protection certification has been developed to comply with CSA standards as well as the Alberta OHS Regulation 191/2021. Students will participate in knowledge based training, hands-on equipment, setup exercises, and address safe practices and procedures as specified in Regulations by the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Alberta.
Absolutely! This blended learning training program is approximately 7 hours in duration and consists of two parts. This course is engineered to assist employers in ensuring the competence of their workers and meets or exceeds both the Alberta OH&S Legislative requirements, industry standards and best practices.
Part 1
The learner must successfully complete the eLearning theory online. This part includes mandatory proctoring which also must be successfully completed.
Part 2
Involves successfully completing the practical training session at one of our facilities with an experienced instructor.
Yes, workers must undergo fall protection training as mandated by the OH&S Code of Alberta. Additionally, fall arrest training in Calgary is essential for ensuring the safety of workers engaged in tasks at heights.
Fall protection training is applicable to any worker, whether permanent or temporary, engaged in tasks at elevated heights.
Your fall protection certification remains valid for three years. While annual renewal is not compulsory, it is advisable.
Most likely. Your previous Fall Protection certification needs to be not more than 180 days past the expiry date on the card and your previous certification needs to be from any previous OSSA provider or legitimate course that includes an in-person component.
