Registration Terms & Conditions

Prerequisites

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure knowledge of and accuracy of all prerequisites for their desired course. Any candidate who arrives at the first class and does not have the proper prerequisites listed on our website will be unable to complete their course and no refund will be provided.

At Certified Safety Training, we aim to balance flexibility with the effort that goes into planning our courses.

For rescheduling or changes, we kindly ask for:
     -72 hours’ notice for courses under $200
     -7 days’ notice for courses over $200

If your course is booked within these windows, your selected date is final.

When you commit to us, we commit to you. As a proud local business, we never cancel courses. To ensure fairness and sustainability, all bookings are a final sale.

That said, we’re always here to help:
     -Upgrade or transfer your course type
     -Reschedule your course date
     -Substitute your spot with another person

We’re committed to working with you, because supporting each other is what great teams do.

Late Arrivals

If you are going to be more than 5 minutes late arriving or returning to class please call our office immediately. More than 15 minutes late (including due to extenuating circumstances) will result in a forfeit of registration fees and/or incompletion of the course.

Course Conduct

For most people, the physical activity involved in training courses should not pose a threat to their health. There are a small number of people who may find the physical activities in a course strenuous. If participants are unsure if they should participate in any aspect of the course involving physical activity, they should see their Instructor before the course begins. Should participants wish to remain in the course but are unable to perform all of the required skills, they cannot successfully complete the course and receive certification. A participation letter is available and can be issued by the instructor in lieu of certification.

Certified Safety Training reserves the right to refuse entrance to or eject without refund any persons from the course who appear to be intoxicated (by either drugs and/or alcohol).

Any verbal or physical harassment will not be tolerated. Participants who harass others, use inappropriate language or make offensive jokes will be asked to leave the course and will not receive a refund or a chance to re-apply. The participant will not be given their certification if they have not completed the course requirements. Proper attire must be worn at all times, including appropriate footwear.

Course Appeals

Participants can appeal any undesirable outcome of their certification. The first attempt will be to speak to the instructor at the end of their class. The instructor will make all reasonable and time permitting attempts to assist the participants in any area he/she may need further instruction. If that attempt fails the participant may appeal to management via email only at info@CertifiedSafetyTraining.ca.

Inherent Risk & Liability

Risk is inherent in all bookings and/or courses. By participating in any booking(s) and/or course(s), it is understood that you are aware of this element of risk and accept it as an integral part of the activity. Further, participants understand that there will be a physical component to their booking(s) and/or course(s).

Participant shall indemnify and hold harmless Certified Safety Training & First Aid Training Calgary Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, subcontractors and customers from and against all allegations, claims, actions, suits, demands, damages, liabilities, obligations, losses, settlements, judgments, costs and expenses (including without limitation lawyer/legal fees and costs) which arise out of, relate to or result from any act, omission, conduct during and after the conclusion of their booking(s) and/or course(s).
